ROCKETSHIP
Welcome

The screening of ROCKETSHIP at the 37th Cleveland International Film Festival, April 3-14, 2013, Ohio's premiere film event, was sold out.  Out of 345 films (180 features and 165 shorts) over twelve days, ROCKETSHIP was named one of the festival's 20 Must See Films.  The review said "It's magical.  It's epic.  It's also completely adorable.  The little boy who plays the lead is fantastic."  More than 93,000 people attended the festival.

ROCKETSHIP won the jury award for NH Film of the Year at the New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth. Writer/Director Alfred Thomas Catalfo accepted the award on behalf of the cast and crew on the Francis Ford Coppola Mainstage at the historic Music Hall.

ROCKETSHIP is the latest short film from award-winning filmmakers Alfred Thomas Catalfo (writer/director of the Web hits THE NORMAN ROCKWELL CODE and BIGHORN, and winner of 22 major screenwriting competitions) and Glenn Gardner (producer of Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner SNIFFER, and BIGHORN).

An unlikely bond is formed between a lonely boy and an elderly man claiming to be a former astronaut. Together they transform a vintage vacuum cleaner into a rocketship for a surprising journey.  The story is based on the rocketship sculptures of artist David Random, who fashions them from re-purposed artifacts.
